IU is a large enough university to offer me all of the resources and opportunities that I need to succeed yet I don't feel like just one random insignificant number of 40,000 like I thought I would. Also, I truly enjoy being here because the people are friendly and the campus is gorgeous.

Hello everyone!  Boy, has it been a long week!  Thus far, I have had two exams, a presentation, a paper, and a quiz (and I still have one more quiz to finish out the week).  In all honesty, I am so ready for Friday afternoon when the week will be over.  Especially after such a tiresome week, I can take my mind off of academics and focus on a couple of days on activities that I love best: racquetball, basketball, football games, and church.  Even if I have a lot of homework or practically none, there is almost nothing I love more than the weekends here in Bloomington.  I am particularly excited for this one because my friend and his family, who are from Michigan and are big Michigan fans, are coming down for the weekend to see the game vs. IU.

Why talk about a football game?  Aren’t there football games every weekend?  This upcoming one is special in my mind and the mind of most IU football fans for one reason and one reason only: Denard Robinson.  If you have watched any Sportscenter as of late, you know that he is considered by many to be the leading candidate to win the Heisman trophy, the most acclaimed award in all of college football (and arguably all of college sports).  He is an exciting player (maybe the most exciting in college football right now) and, while I will be cheering on IU in hopes of a victory, I am looking forward to seeing him play live.  An IU win would prove to be a big upset considering Michigan is ranked 19th in the country.  I am confident we can pull it off if we can find a way to contain Denard Robinson and keep him from gaining lots of rushing yards on us.  To those of you who are coming down for the SAC game day this weekend, you are in for a fantastic Big Ten matchup.  The game days are always a great way to become more informed about the application and matriculation processes for IU while experiencing the excitement that comes with being in a college football atmosphere.  This shows you the kinds of opportunities afforded to you at IU – one moment, you are learning from world-renowned professors who are experts researching in their fields right now and, the next moment, you are watching some of the best football players in the country go at it.  It doesn’t get any better than that!
