Hello readers!
Unfortunately, my study abroad experience is coming to an end. My program is over in two weeks. I cannot believe how fast this semester abroad went! Studying and working in London for four months has been a life changing experience. From learning to ride the Tube to adjusting to the British business environment, living in London has really taught me a new meaning of independence. My only complaint about my program is that I wish it was longer! I’ve made so many friends from both IU and other universities, and developed valuable business connections with my co-workers through …
Hey readers,
I am now more than halfway through my study abroad program in London. It’s going way too fast! Last weekend, I went to Wales with my study abroad program. It was so much fun! I took a train from London to Wales on friday afternoon and arrived on friday night. We stayed at the Presceli Adventures Lodge, located in Fishguard, South Wales. Our lodge was right on the Irish Sea it was beautiful!
When we arrived, dinner was waiting for us at the Lodge and we were free for the night. It was amazing to eat a home …
Hey readers,
Studying abroad in London is going amazing. This weekend I traveled to Edinburgh, Scotland! It was my favorite city in Europe that I have seen so far. I travelled with five other friends from my program. We took a night bus from London to Edinburgh on Thursday night, arriving early Friday morning. This was my first hostel experience! We stayed in a hostel that overlooked the Edinburgh castle. It was surprisingly very nice and clean. Friday afternoon we did an entire tour of the Edinburgh castle. I saw where they keep the Scottish Crown Jewels, the old dungeons …
Hello readers,
I am having an amazing time here in London! I started one of my classes so far, Working in the UK Environment. The class goes over all of the differences between the U.S. and UK work and political culture. My class meets once every other week for 3 hours, and I have an online assignment for the every other week I am not in class. This class is only with Indiana University and University of Wisconsin students. My other two classes, Advanced Strategic Management and Consumer Behavior, start Monday and will be with both American and British students. …
Hello readers!
I have arrived in London, England for my semester abroad! So far it is absolutely amazing. I am living in Red Cliffe Gardens, which is part of the Kensington/Chelsea area of London. It is an extremely wealthy and upper class area. Hugh Grant has a flat down the street from us! I am living in a house with 24 other students, from IU and all over the country! Each floor of the house is a converted apartment. I share one floor with four other girls and we have two bathrooms and a kitchen and a living room. The …
I am back in NY for the holidays and preparing for my study abroad to London! I am leaving in less than 3 weeks now. Even when I am back in New York, my entire family watches IU basketball! This season is so exciting, with IU being 10-0 and ranked for the first time since 2008! Unfortunately, I did not have tickets to the Kentucky game last week but watched the amazing win with friends in downtown Bloomington, and celebrated the win with the campus after!
Last night, my family decorated our Christmas tree while watching the IU game. This …
Hello readers!
My end of the semester has been insanely busy. Before Thanksgiving, I had my five I-Core final exams. It was so relaxing having no school work during Thanksgiving break. However, my I-Core business case started the Sunday night after Thanksgiving. It is a ten day case study that is done in a group of six Kelley students. As the case is due tomorrow, my last three weeks have been filled with non-stop work.
The I-core case is extremely intense, however its a great experience. My group and I have been diligently working on it since last Sunday. This …
Hey readers! I had a great week here in Bloomington with both Halloween and IU Homecoming! Even though we didn’t win our homecoming game, there was still lots of spirit through out campus. After the homecoming game, world famous Sweedish DJ, Avicii, came to play in Bloomington! He flew out especially for IU Homecoming, putting on a fantastic performance. His crew spent $30,000 on the lights alone. The concert was hosted on a nearby farm in order to accommodate the large amount of students in attendance.
On actual Halloween, I volunteered with one of the Kelley School of Business organizations …
Hello readers!
I am already half way done with my Junior year! I just finished my I-Core midterms last week, and I cannot believe how quick this semester has gone. This semester has been so busy, between I-Core classes, applying for study abroad and IU football games!
I am so excited to say that I was accepted to the London Internship program through the Kelley School of Business! I am going to be in London for my entire spring semester! I will be traveling with about 60 other Kelley School of Business students, and hundreds of Big 10 business students …
Hey readers!
I had a very hectic move in this semester! Unfortunately, my flight to Indianapolis was cancelled due to the Hurricane Irene, so I had to come to school a few days late. I got to experience the hurricane, and my power went out for an entire week! It was a little bit of a stressful move in, but now I am just glad to be back!
I am living in the new apartments on campus this semester! They are gorgeous! IU just built them last year. I live with four other girls, and each of us has our …
