It is crazy to think that this is the end of the road after almost three years of blogging (much of which became inconsistent as time progressed and life became busier). Moreover, within less than a month, I will end this entire college journey that I began four short years ago and begin a new one in the form of professional training. However, graduation merely signals a transition, a segue into the working world that gets each of us as aspirants of success one step closer to our individual life and career goals. That is what I love about the …

This Is My Farewell
April 17th, 2013The Beginning of the End
January 31st, 2013Bloomington. One seemingly simple word yet a name that is representative of so much more than just a location. I am more cosmopolitan than most, having traveled and lived outside of this fine country, but I must say there is truly no other place on this planet like Bloomington, IN. For me, Bloomington is home; I am proud to say I spent four years at the home of a world-class academic institution, the home of the Hoosiers, the home of Mother Bear’s and Buffalouie’s and Kirkwood, the home of weather extremes like none other, the home of beautiful paths lined …
New Year, New Attitude
January 9th, 2013Winter break was a great chance for me to be as unproductive as possible and I took full advantage of the opportunity. The month of December was one I dreaded from the start knowing that I would be busy with two interviews and several exams all coming within a two week span. The only thing that got me through it, my sole source of motivation, was our trip to Florida during the first week and a half of the break. I was really looking forward to the stereotypical perks of Florida: warm weather, beautiful scenery, sandy beaches, etc. Better yet, …
All Work and Some Play
November 25th, 2012Finally we reach the long-awaited Thanksgiving break. At IU, we always have to go 13 straight weeks without a break in the fall. So by the time we reach this point in the semester, everyone is itching to go back home. What makes this year even sweeter though is that, unlike previous years, we get a whole week off for Thanksgiving break. It’s a nice change and it makes IU unique. No other schools in Indiana that I am aware of do this because my friends at Purdue of Ball State still have classes for the first two days of …
Back At It
October 9th, 2012While it is great to be a senior, I did not expect that I would be extraordinarily busy. If anything, I thought I would have more free time this semester than I have had since my freshman year. That has turned out not to be the case. I’m so busy in fact that this is sadly the third separate occasion on which I have attempted to complete this blog. This year is interesting in particular because it forces me to evenly divide my focus between the present and the future, even more so than I had to during my senior …
The City of Boston
August 7th, 2012Although I can’t claim to have seen all of the major sites the city of Boston has to offer, I have gotten out to a few of them when I don’t need to be in the lab. For one, I would say that I am staying right across the street from one site in the Harvard Medical School, which, in addition to their reputation, boasts a gorgeous campus right in the heart of the city. Being so close to the medical school also places me right down the street from two top-ranked hospitals in Brigham and Women’s Hospital (where I …
Busy in Beantown
July 12th, 2012Hello everyone! The title of this blog is not meant to be an excuse for why I haven’t blogged in so long (although it could be). I really have been going nonstop this summer. Ever since I arrived in Boston, I have found that I have more to do than I did during the school year, an unusual occurrence for a summer. Between working in a lab and filling out my AMCAS application for medical school, there hasn’t been time for much else, which is unfortunate because I’d really love to enjoy the city of Boston a lot more. Nonetheless, …
Getting My Priorities Straight
May 29th, 2012Sometimes, life isn’t all about school. I mean, sure, school and my future are important, but sometimes I have to take a break from those things. When I’m not studying or, at this moment, applying for medical school, my interest turns towards NBA basketball. I’ve probably blogged about this the previous two years around this time of the year, but I’ve been such a big basketball fan for pretty much my entire life that I can’t really help it. I could go on for a long time about basketball but I’ll try and make this brief.
Right now, we are …
In Limbo
May 16th, 2012I always find this time of the year to be relaxing albeit seemingly purposeless at times. Then again, I was miserable this past semester when I felt I had to constantly be productive so sometimes it is nice to have practically nothing to do, that is at least compared to the frenetic pace that goes along with the school year. Still I titled this post “In Limbo” for a reason. I am not completely free of any responsibility or obligations. In fact, I have learned that summers should never go to waste; they are a great time to relax but …
Crunch Time
May 4th, 2012Hello everybody! I apologize for the long hiatus from blogging – this semester has turned out to be a handful but at least it is almost over. Part of me wishes I was still on spring break but we are so rapidly approaching the end of the school year that there is no point in wanting to go backwards. Over spring break, I went to Florida with my buddies Kent, Jake, and Mohsin and had a blast. We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana resort in the heart of Orlando. A lot of days, we just hung out there and swam …
